The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2013 - DELHI CHAPTER
The Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) celebrated its 2nd IRAS-Day on November 30, 2013. Several retired officers including ex-Financial Commissioners (Railways) and Secretaries to Government of India from the IRAS were present along with serving officers in full strength, which made the event a great success. The function was commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by senior IRAS Officers and rendering of an invocation song.
A welcome address was given by Smt. Rashmi Kapoor, Advisor(Budget), Railway Board, which was followed by an address from Shri Arjun Rakshit, Additional Member(Finance), Railway Board.
On this occasion, Shri Akhileshwar Prasad, Former Member Finance, Telecom Commission & ex officio Secy to GOI also addressed the renowned gathering.
Further, there was an enlightening talk on “Change Management in the context of Indian Railways†by Professor Rajeshwar Upadhyaya, visiting faculty, Indian School of Business, Hyderabad and a leading HR Consultant.
The keynote address was delivered by Shri R. Kashyap, Financial Commissioner(Railways).
The day’s events were concluded by a Vote of Thanks given by Shri P. V. Vaidialingam, Advisor/Accounts, Railway Board.
