The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2013, ECR CHAPTER
East Central Railway celebrated the IRAS Day 2013 on 30 November, with mix of technical and social events. All IRAS officers including the retired officers alongwith their family members attended the celebrations. The IRAS DAY celebrations got started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Smt. and Shri S.K. Mallik, FA&CAO. In the inaugural address FA&CAO/ECR laid strong emphasis on IRAS officers enhancing their professional competence and harnessing their energies to become responsible members of the Railway family.
Two technical sessions were followed the inaugural address. In the first session, Shri Shashank Priya, IRS (C&CE), Commissioner, Service Tax and Central Excise gave lucid exposition on the law regarding Service Tax, its practical applications in general and on Railways in particular. This was followed by a lively Question and Answer session.
The second session comprised a set of three presentations made by the youngest members of the IRAS family on the Railway. While Aparajit Rai, ADFM/MGS spoke on the possibility of creating High Speed Rail corridors on Indian Railways and ways of financing the same, Satya Brata, ADFM/DHN expounded on his vision of a Universal PF Number and the way it can simplify e-enabled maintenance of PF Accounts. Alka Bijlani, ADFM/DNR talked of her journey from probation to a working position in the Divisional Accounts Office.
The evening then moved on to a cultural event made musical and lively by artists from the Cultural Association of the ECR.. This was followed by an impromptu and highly entertaining session of music, poetry and humour in which IRAS Officers and their families participated with gusto.
