The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2013, JABALPUR CHAPTER
IRAS Day on West Central Railway was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm on 30th November which was attended by retired and serving officers. The keynote address was delivered by Smt Nalini Kak , FA&CAO in which she stated that this is a occasion to introspect the contribution made to the organisation by the Service and in individual capacity and work towards becoming professional Financial Manager. This was followed by addresses by Smt Anuradha Mukhedkar, FA&CAO(C). She stated that the Role of IRAS officer has become even more critical considering the difficult financial scenario and there is a need to reinvent our self. Shri Kartik Chauhan, FA&CAO (WST) in his address mentioned that there is no substitute for professional experience. Shri Naval Srivastava , FA&CAO(G) emphasised that focus should be to enhance our capabilities in core activities. There was discussion on professional matters and topics relevant to IRAS. Retired and young officers also shared their experiences.
In keeping with the times, this was followed by presentation on “Leadership and Values†by Smt Punita Upadhyay, Faculty of Human Values at Shri Satya Sai Seva Oraganisation. Considering that substantial expenditure is made towards traction payment and Railway is prime mover of the raw material for the Power plants, topic of “Emerging Scenario in Power Sector†was discussed by Shri Manu Srivastav, MD, MP Power Management Company Limited. These presentations were very well received by the gathering.
