The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2013, MUMBAI CHAPTER
The IRAS day 2013 was celebrated in a befitting manner on Saturday, 30th November, 2013 in GM’s Conference Hall, WR HQrs., Churchgate by the IRAS fraternity at Mumbai which includes officers from Central, Western Railways and MRVC, KRCL and DFCCIL and all the retired IRAS officers.
Total 70 IRAS officers attended the function.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt.R.Ravikumar, FA&CAO/CR and Shri Ravi Prabhat, FA&CAO/WR by traditional lighting of lamp. This was followed by welcome address by Smt.R.Ravikumar.
There were three interesting, enlightening and thought provoking presentations on contemporary topics, with interactive sessions and enthusiastic participation by the officers.
(1) ROLE OF IRAS IN CHANGING TIMES OF INDIAN RAILWAYS – by Jr.Scale IRAS officers who have recently joined Railways.
(2) TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT – ROLE OF RAILWAYS – by Smt.Neera Saggi, a former IAS officer and now CEO-L&T Seawoods, which is the largest TOD project in India.
(3) LEADERSHIP & MOTIVATION – by Shri Rohan Singhal, Director-Energy Infinite, a renowned Entrepreneur, Consultant & Mentor.
Shri R.M.Vakil, IRAS/1954 Batch, the senior-most member of IRAS family at Mumbai, was felicitated on the occasion.
