The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2013 - ALLAHABAD CHAPTER
IRAS Day in North Central Railway and CORE, Allahabad
North Central Railway and Central Organization for Railway Electrification celebrated IRAS Day in North Central Railway Headquarters at Allahabad. All the IRAS Officers of North Central Railway including IRPMU and CORE, Allahabad along with retired IRAS officers attended the IRAS Day celebrations. On the eve of the occasion, a family get-together was organized at RE Club at Allahabad. During the get-together, cultural Programme was also organized with a mix of classical, folk and film music along with mix of other games. FA&CAO/NCR Smt Apala Singh and FA&CAO/RE Shri J P Pandey graced the occasion as senior most members of IRAS family in Allahabad.
The seminar of IRAS officers was also organized in the morning. The seminar was presided over by FA&CAO/NCR Smt. Apala Singh and FA&CAO/CORE, Shri J.P. Pandey and was conducted by Dy. FA&CAO/G, Shri Vineet Dwivedi. Addressing the gathering, FA&CAO/NCR, Smt. Apala Singh advised the young IRAS officers to have a positive outlook and always strive to upgrade their professional skills to grow in the service. She emphasized on having a positive attitude and counting the good things in life. She brought out the family environment in IRAS cadre and close association of young IRAS officer with senior officers. She also encouraged them to be open in voicing their views about the service and do proud to the service by professional excellence. Shri J.P. Pandey, FA&CAO/CORE, during his address recalled his earlier days in IRAS. He gave practical advice to the young IRAS officers asking them to work without fear or favour and set high standards in working by professional excellence.
Four technical sessions were conducted during the seminar. Shri N P Pandey, FA&CAO/Construction gave a presentation on International Montary System with a perspective of international transactions and exchange rate mechanism. Young IRAS officers Amritanshu Maurya DFM/ALD and Swami Prakash Pandey, ADFM/JHS gave a beautiful presentation on Aspirations of Young IRAS Officers. Shri Vivek Gupta, Sr DFM/AGC shared innovations and system improvements done in Agra Dvision.
Later on, an open house discussion with all IRAS officers was held. Young IRAS officers opined their views and aspirations from the Service. There was some apprehensions among young officers regarding the promotion, confirmations and cadre management in the service. Officers expressed that not getting due promotion timely gives a very defeating feeling and lowers the morale of the Service.
Among other suggestion, the need for projection of IRAS as a service in the public and media was emphasized. It was an unanimous view of IRAS community, that IRAS officers need to be given more international exposure especially the young IRAS officers, to make IRAS officers grow in the service and have a wider vision. It was appreciated that now this is being given adequate attention and IRAS officers are being given good international exposure. Also, IRAS officers shall be given opportunities in deputations especially Railway PSUs where they should be holding finance related posts rather than outsiders occupying them.
