Recently the North Korean government celebrated the
completion of a road from its capital, Pyongyang, right
up to the South Korean frontier. It is a modern four-lane
highway, which cuts across mountains and deep
river gorges. There is just a small hitch. There are not
enough cars in North Korea to use this great socialistic
achievement. The reason is that there are no private cars
except those awarded by the government to famous
artists and gold medal winners from Olympic games.
