Charged Prayers

A church in Milan, Italy has statues of saints and divine personalities. One among them is the statue of Madonna. A South American couple visited this statue daily and offered long prayers in front of it. The church priests thought this to be highly religious till they found out the real reason behind the prayers. There is an electrical socket behind this statue and the couple got their mobile phone charged from it. For this reason, the prayers had to be long! And the priests have a benevolent attitude towards this couple. “They are welcome here, anyway. Letting them charge their mobile is a bit like giving them a glass of water”, said a priest.

Truth Prevails

Norwich in U.K. broadcasts a regional news programme, BBC’s Look East. Recently, its viewers suddenly found themselves watching a string of invectives and abuses. During an interview about drug problem in Cambridge, an unrelated strip got inserted by mistake and shocked the viewers beyond measure. While remorse and apologies followed, what made the faux pas comic was the fact that this programme had followed another feature that showed viewers complaining about foul language on TV. The viewers were literally vindicated, though rather unintentionally.

Fort Myers in Florida, U.S.A was the venue of the recent wedding of bridegroom Randy Kimbell with Sharon Stehli on July 11th. Randy had a brilliant idea for ensuring that he will never forget the wedding anniversary (a capital offence for husbands in  western culture). The wedding was performed at 7.11 a.m. on 11th July, in a branch of 7-eleven chain of restaurants. Let us wish Randy many memorable anniversaries.
