CONFERENCE OF FA&CAOs CONSTRUCTION

AT SECUNDERABAD – 11.3.02

 

 

                                                     

 

 

            FA&CAO, SCRailway hosted the conference of FA&CAOs [Construction] at Secunderabad on the 11th instant. The Conference was held in the recently renovated GM’s Conference hall, and was inaugurated by Shri S. Murali, FC[Rlys], when Shri S.N. Trivedi, Addl.Member [Budget] and Shri S.M. Singla, General Manager, SCR were also present.   All Co-ordinating FA&CAOs/C of all zonal Railways were present, except for NE (represented by Dy.FA/C).  Agenda items for discussion during the Conference were:

 

·        Plan Expenditure

·        Issues Relating to Pre-Contract Stage

·        Contract Management

·        Book-keeping in Construction Accounts

·        Internal House-keeping and Efficiency

·        Manpower Planning – Workcharged establishment

           

            The post-lunch technical session was held in the FA&CAOs Conference Hall (also recently renovated!).  After the technical sessions concluded, there followed

 

·        A Presentation by Ms. Sunanda Arul, Dy.FA/C/SBC on the Integrated Project Management System (IPMS) developed by Southern Railway.  The presentation generated useful discussions.  FC complemented Ms. Sunanda for her presentation.

 

·        Release of the Establishment Manual Vol. II of SCR by FC. The distinct feature was release of both Hard copy as well as the Digitized version.  FA&CAO/SC explained that this was part of the exercise on SCR to develop working Manuals for all sections of the Accounts Office. Dy.CAO/G informed the gathering that the Manuals digitized earlier have already been put on the Net, through the IRAS Times website.  FC and AM/Bud. complemented the Officers and staff of SCR on this achievement, and announced a cash award of Rs.15,000/-.

 

The invitees to the Conference and IRAS Officers of SCR concluded the event with a get-together aboard ‘Bhagmati’ – on a cruise over the Tank Bund, the lake separating the twin-Cities of Secunderabad-Hyderabad. To see the informal part of this get-together, visit:
