We are familiar with the problems of examining answer papers with a handwriting, which just cannot be read.
Probably, some examinees use
this tactic to claim and get the benefit of doubt, but the London School of
Economics has a very effective
remedy against such smart behaviour. Its examination rules include the
following warning recorded on
the admission card: “ Examinees are advised to write their answers in a legible
handwriting. If an examinee’s
handwriting is found to be illegible, a typist will be employed at the cost of
the
examinee, and the latter will
read out the answers to the typist who will then type out the answers for
enabling
the examiner to examine them.”
Considering that the cost of this could be about £100 (Rs. 7600/-) per answer
paper, the examinee is surely in
a catch-22 situation.
