HOW TO GET ALONG WITH PEOPLE TO EASE HUMAN
RELATIONS
Dr. Norman Vincent Peale gives a brief course for getting
along well with people. It may help ease human relations.
- If
you genuinely like people, you will find that people generally will like
you.
- Always
be interested in the other person. Direct conversation to that in which
the other individual is interested, rather than talking about yourself.
- Remember
names. To accomplish this, give attention to the other person, so that the
name of the other person will get registered in your mind. A person’s name
is important to him.
- Be
easy to get along with others. Be a comfortable sort of person, so that
there is no strain in being with you.
- Be
stimulating. If being with you makes people feel better, people will want
to be with you; your personal relations will be excellent.
- Avoid
being on edge and sensitive, for people instinctively shy off from the super-sensitive,
fearing to arouse an unpleasant reaction.
- Sincerely
make an attempt to heal every misunderstanding that you may have with
other individuals. Mentally or spiritually drain off your grievances and
maintain an attitude of goodwill with every one.
- Perform
unselfish and outgoing acts of friendship. Sincere self-giving leads to
pleasant personal relations.
Do For Others What You Want Them
To Do For You.
