A team of TIAs under the supervision of AFA/T/HQ have
visited Sawai Madhopur Station for examination of reweighment of train
load consignment at Electronic Weigh-Bridge at Sawai Madhopur station of W.C.
Railway, being first weigh bridge at the inter change point. During the course
of inspection, it was observed that there have been many instances of excess
weight in rake load consignments specially in salt rake load
traffic. During reweighment of salt rake at the time of inspection
an overweight of 24.61 Tones and under charges of Rs.66,963/- were
detected. In the past there has been many instances of overweight
and undercharges were noted to the tune of 444.6 tones and Rs. 5,13,186/-
Approx. respectively in the month of October & November
2003. The amount of undercharges would have been more if all the
rake load consignments were reweighed at the weigh-bridge.
Matter has been taken up with the CCM/NWR for arranging
regular reweighment at Electronic Weigh-Bridge of all the rake load
consignments of N.W. Rly. Specially ‘Salt & Gypsum Traffic’ moving via
Sawai Madhopur interchange point to avoid leakage of Railway Revenue.He is also
requested to issue necessary instruction to all the Goods Booking Stations to
reweigh the consignments before booking the Goods Traffic, as per laid down
instructions in IRCA goods tariff & IRCM Vol.II.
A team of 24 TIA’s of NWR with the help of ticket checking
staff have recovered Rs. 22,808 on account of irregular & ticketless
traveling at Hissar station. As a result of this 24 hour intensive check on
dated 13 & 14th Nov, 2003, Rs. 22,808 was recovered in cash from 327 no. of
cases on account of Fare(7642/-),
Penalty (11,486/-) & Unbooked luggage (3680/-).
Further, Hissar & other adjoining stations have shown improvement in
earnings by approx. Rs. 20,000.
