This year, FA & CAO/SR has decided to reward the division that does the best in trying circumstances, different from the GM's Efficiency Shield based on a number of parameters.The Shield has been instituted in the memory of Shri R. Narasimhan, the first member of the IRAS cadre to become GM.  In the inaugural year, the Shield was awarded to the Salem Division.  The award was presented by Mrs.Kamala Narasimhan on 21.05.2010. Two pictures connected with the event - the picture of the Shield and its award-can be seen.  In the picture of the award, Mrs.Kamala Narasimhan gave away the award to Shri T.Veluswamy, Sr.DFM/Salem in the presence of Shri S.Raghuraman, FA&CAO/Southern Railway.
