Prize Scheme for IRAS Officers for participation on IRAS Times
As per the directives of FC, the following prize scheme is formulated for IRAS officers for participation on IRAS Times, the webzine of IRAS Association:
Calculation of Points
Contributions for the Professional Section
1) Each original contribution to IRAS Times, in the shape of an article on professional issues, which is published on the ‘Useful Articles’ page, will be awarded 100 points.
2) Any contribution, which is published in the ‘Best Practices’ page, will also get 100 points for the contributor (who should be from the same Accounts Unit which has been responsible for the systems improvement involved).
3) Other contributions that are published in the ‘Professional Achievements’ and ‘Professional Events’ pages will be awarded 50 points.
4) Each original contribution (while initiating a topic for discussion) in the Message Board on Professional Issues will be awarded 50 points. Each participant who takes part in the discussions subsequently will be awarded 25 points.
5) Each original contribution (while initiating a topic for discussion) in the Message Board on Service Matters will be awarded 25 points. Each participant who takes part in the discussions subsequently will be awarded 10 points.
Contributions for the Magazine Section
1) Each original contribution to IRAS Times, in the shape of an article on general issues, which is published on the ‘Contributions from the Members’ page, will be awarded 50 points.
2) Each original contribution (while initiating a topic for discussion) in the Message Board (Personal Corner) will be awarded 10 points. Each participant who takes part in the discussions subsequently will be awarded 5 points.
3) Other contributions that are published in the ‘Events and Happenings’ page, ‘The Family Page’ and ‘The Humour Page’ will be awarded 25 points.
Note: In the event of relevant contributions by the members of an officer’s family for this Section, the points will be awarded to the officer concerned.
Contributions
for the Links Section
1) Each link sent for this section will get 5 points.
Note:
1. No credit will be given if a new discussion is started on the Message Boards on the same topic before the old discussion is declared as closed by the Webmaster.
2. Webmaster’s decision in respect of the publication of the article(s) in IRAS Times and posting of messages will be final.
Method of awarding the prize
The points received by each contributor during a calendar month would be totaled up. The first three contributors earning the highest number of points during the month would be awarded special prizes by the IRAS Association, in addition to any other commendation/appreciation that the Financial Commissioner (Railways) may wish to confer.
The special prizes to the three winners would be in the form of books, to be selected by the Webmaster, as per the following value:
(i) Ist Prize Winner: Books worth Rs 500/- approx.
(ii) 2nd Prize Winner: Books worth Rs. 300/- approx.
(iii) 3rd Prize Winner: Books worth Rs. 200/- approx.
Note: In case FC so desires, she may award suitable prizes to other than the contributors earning the highest number of points in a particular month, so as to encourage participation on the website. The participation of the regular contributors would, however, continue to be appreciated.
