The Court’s Seal

A Texan judge did something, which many wish could be done to some people who open their mouth wide and too frequently. Carl Wiley of Lubbock, Texas, U.S.A. was under trial for ramming his estranged wife’s car with his own vehicle. As the trial proceeded, Wiley interrupted the proceedings time and on with unwarranted utterances, and the judge warned him repeatedly. When the warnings failed to improve matters, the judge ordered the court officers to seal Wiley’s mouth with duct tape. Although the tape was taken off after the day’s proceedings were over, Wiley made no comment on his treatment, not even to say, “my lips are sealed!”
