The Invalid Confession

The mills of law really grind fine. In Moss, Norway, a motorist was arrested for drunken driving. He told the police he wanted to cooperate and was prepared to give a written confession. In an unguarded moment, the police got this done. In the court, however, the police had to admit that the man was still drunk at the time that he signed the confession. And there was no other evidence. Naturally, the man was set free by the magistrate.
