Rumana Shankar, daughter of Shankar Natarajan, FA&CAO(C)/WR, and Nargis, a regular contributor to this webzine, has been awarded the Ritu Kumar prize for the best design collection, while passing out of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Delhi, recently.Here is a photograph of Rumana (at extreme left) walking away after receiving the award, amidst applause.

Shriharsh, son of Shri Prakash Tendulkar, FA&CAO(C)/CR, has been invited by Center for Excellence in Education ("CEE"), an institution in the USA, to attend the 20th Annual Research Science Institute to be held in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the California Institute of Tehchnology. The session will take place from 20th June to 31st July. Shriharsh is one among 35 international students chosen to attend this programme for top maths and science students worldwide.

Shriharsh, son of Shri Prakash Tendulkar, FA&CAO(C)CR, has been adjudged suitable for the second round of selection for the Physics Olympiad 2004. He is amongst the first one percent of the 31200 aspirants from all over India to thus succeed.

The Indian team for the Astronomy Olympiad 2003 has brought four Gold and two Silver medals home from Sweden. The Indian teams have secured first team positions in the senior as well as in the junior group.
Shriharsh, son of Shri Prakash Tendulkar, FA&CAO(C)/CR, has scored maximum marks in the seniors group and has bagged the first position amongst about 50 participants from fourteen countries.
Indian Express, Mumbai, in its issue dated 10th October 2003, published a special news story on the Indian win, under the heading 'Indian Stars shine in Swedish Skies'.
IRAS Times also conveys its congratulations to Shriharsh and the Tendulkar family.

See Anu Neha, daughter of Shri A.K.Sharma, IRAS(1980), on the new Star News TV channel. As a News Presenter, she is a regular on City60 (22.00 Hrs to 23.00 Hrs daily) and appears occasionally on other news programmes.

Shriharsh, son of Shri Prakash Tendulkar, FA&CAO/MTP/CR - IRAS(1980), has been awarded a gold medal in the Astronomy Olympiad concluded in Arkyz Nyzni (Russia) in October 2002.
In all, India won four gold, one silver and one bronze medals.Our country stood 1st in the juniors catagory and 3rd in the seniors.

IRAS Times is also happy to announce that Shriharsh has been selected to be a member of the Indian team for participating in the Astronomy Olympiad 2002.The event will be held in Russia in October this year.
