The Parrot Therapy

At Cardiff in U.K. one hypnotherapist cures patients of their psychological problems by letting them talk

out their feelings and problems. But he found that his patients were sometimes reluctant to open out to

him. So what does he do? He acquired a parrot and encouraged his patients to speak to the parrot,

instead. The response has been very good, reports Richard Roberts, the hypnotherapist. “Parrots

are gentle and very calm and people can pour out all their troubles to Jessie, my parrot. We have

had fabulous results”, said Roberts. Fabulous, certainly, because the parrot earns thirty pounds

(Rs. 2300/-) an hour for its master. One hopes that some day the parrot does not start blurting

out what he was spoken to.
