A nutshell report on Workshop of TIAs held at Kharagpur on 4th January,2003  -  Sri S.K.Pattanayak, Dy.F.A.& C.A.O.(Traffic), S.E.Railway.

 

Upgradation of knowledge and skill is paramount for an individual to achieve professional excellence. But, when the same is directed to a group  of individuals in an organized forum, it is bound to deliver the goods in achieving organisational goals & missions. Of course, organization has its own role to play.

 

 

Buoyed by the successful organisation of the first ever All India Railway TIAs’ Conference at Visakhapatnam on 4th – 5th Jan,2002, Traffic Accounts set up of S.E.Railway made another attempt to conduct a day’s workshop of “Frauds in SPTM/PRS tickets & Ticket Checking” at RPF Training School Auditorium , Kharagpur on 4th January,03.

 

HIGHLIGHTS

 

Ř                Besides one hundred and thirty odd Sr.TIAs/TIAs,  ten selected Commercial Inspectors of Kharagpur division actively participated in the workshop.

 

Ř                Sri D.Lakra, FA&CAO, Sri Ravi Prabhat, FA&CAO(WST) & Sri Sanjib Handa, DRM/Kharagpur addressed the gathering on the issues relevant to the topics of discussions.

 

Ř                An attractive Booklet on “A Summary of Discussion & Deliberation” of the All India TIAs’ Conference-2002 was released & distributed to the participants & guests.

 

Topics related presentations on “Frauds on SPTM/PRs tickets” and “Ticket Checking” by Sri Vijay Kumar, Dy.CAO(T), Eastern Railway & Sri Alok Shukla, Dy.CAO(T), Central Rly respectively, enthused the gathering to hotly debate on the issues during the workshop proper.

 

Ř                Assisted by experienced moderators (SG/JAG officers of Commercial & Traffic accounts department) ten groups (12-15 members in each group) had an hour-long brainstorming session on the topics assigned to individual group. Each of the group was, however, given a chance to share their views and ideas in the House at the end of workshop discussion.

 

Ř                A “Quiz” Session” in the afternoon with two preliminaries and the final, (each of the contests was limited to three rounds – general, professional & rapid fire) was another novelty that enthralled the participants and the audience. TIAs of Sambalpur division (59th division of IR) bagged the coveted FA&CAO’s Challenge Trophy edging past the groups from KGP division (2nd ) and Kolkata area (3rd).

 

Ř                A cultural troupe from Adra division performed creditably in the evening with a variety programme before an appreciative audience.
