The Parrot Who Knew Too Much

 

From Memphis, Tennessee, U.S.A comes the tale of a parrot that a gang of thieves feared mortally for a bizarre reason. The thieves burgled a house in Tennessee, and made off with a large haul. But they soon realised that, sitting in its cage, the house parrot had observed it all, and even heard them calling each other by their nicknames. They thought the parrot will squeal to the police, and so they went back to take away the parrot. However, just when they were loading the cage into their car, the police patrol car arrived, and in the confusion, the thieves’ car collided against the patrol car. As a result, the cage flew open, and the parrot escaped. A local gag is that it may suddenly appear during the trial, and become a material witness.
