Workshop on Traffic Accounts and Conference of DyCAO(T)s
Chennai – 20th &
21st September 2001
During FA&CAOs’
conference, the necessity to review the present working system of
Traffic Accounts due to the changing Operating and Commercial scenario were
taken up for discussion. It was felt that due to the various policy changes
initiated by Board in Operating and Commercial activities correspondingly,
there should be proper changes made in the accounting system also. For this, a grass root level review of
functioning of Traffic Accounts branch becomes inevitable. Accordingly Southern Railway organized a
workshop of Traffic Accounts and Dy.FA&CAO/Ts’ conference with the approval
of Financial Commissioner/ Railways, on 20th and 21st
September 2001 at Chennai. The conference was attended by Dy.CAO/Ts from all
Zonal Railways and the SAOs, AAO/Ts, Sr.SO(A)s and Sr.TIAs of all zonal railways, directly involved in
Traffic Accounts functioning participated in the workshop.
The
conference was inaugurated by Smt
Vijayalakshmi Viswanathan, FA & CAO/SR/MAS and delivered a keynote
address on “Changing Scenario of Traffic
Accounts – New Roles and challenges”. All
the FA&CAOs have participated in the inaugural ceremony of the conference
which was presided over by Shri
S.Raghuraman FA&CAO/WST/SR.
The
following papers were presented in the conference.

In addition to the above

deliberations.

and Workshop as brought out in 2 parts, Part I – Final Report and Part II –
Summary of suggestions will be submitted to Railway Board.
