NPMP Awards for Excellence
Best Woman Executive – Mrs. Vandana Singhal, IRAS
National
Petroleum Management Programme (NPMP), an organization under Ministry of
Petroleum & Natural Gas is a knowledge creating & learning Network of Oil
Industry Organisations in India. In an
effort to identify, recognize and encourage excellence among the enterprises of
Petroleum Sector, NPMP has instituted ten Awards in the various facets of
management of Petroleum enterprises such as Human Resource Management, Finance
Management, Project Management, Creativity & Innovation, Women Development
and Information Technology. These
Awards are known as NPMP Awards for Excellence.

The
nominations for each category of the Award Scheme are evaluated by an Expert
Committee comprising of three eminent experts drawn from pool of Academicians,
Industry Professionals and Consultants.
The recommendations of Expert Committee are presented before the Awards
Committee chaired by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural
Gas.
Mrs.
Vandana Singhal, IRAS Officer of 1977 batch, presently on deputation to Oil
Industry Development Board under Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has
been awarded the “Best Woman Executive” in the Oil Sector under
NPMP Award for Excellence in the Individual Category. The Award was presented by the Honourable Minister of State
for Petroleum & Natural Gas Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar Ji on May 20,
2002 in the distinguished presence of Shri B.K. Chaturvedi, Secretary,
Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas at a Special Ceremony held at the
Convention Hall, Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.
Hon’ble
Minister (Railways), Chairman, Railway Board and Financial Commissioner
(Railways) have congratulated Mrs. Vandana Singhal and conveyed their best wishes.

Mrs. Vandana Singhal, Secretary,
Oil Industry Development Board, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has
taken many small but determined steps to reach the pinnacle. Mrs. Vandana Singhal’s achievements and accomplishments
speak of a person who works hard in order to make her dreams come true with
commitment.
Mrs. Vandana Singhal has made
learning and growth her focus and continued to invest in herself through
educational inputs to enhance her knowledge, attitudes and skills. She has taken responsibilities, responded to
challenges and created opportunities for others. She has demonstrated leadership in all her endeavours, and given
her best to the system. She is
sensitive to causes and has a perspective on large and mammoth institutions.
In playing the multiple roles
simultaneously and effectively she deserves the NPMP Awards of Excellence as
Best Woman Executive.
