What’s in a name?

S.M.Singru

Texas, U.S.A. saw a major injustice corrected recently. Christine O’Kane was refused a police job because her name sounded like “cocaine”. The police department said her named sounded “inappropriate”, particularly because her email address was “C.O’Kaine” and when put together, it spelled cocaine which senior officers felt will bring the police force into ridicule. But O’Kaine won her job after filing an appeal. It is another matter that now she uses only her maiden name, Whitaker.
