IRAS DAY 2013, LUCKNOW CHAPTER
IRAS Day was celebrated on 30th November, 2013 in Sanchetna Hall of Finance and Accounts Directorate of RDSO. The event was attended by Dr. Kalpana Dube, ED/Finance, RDSO, Ajeet Kumar Srivastava, DF/RDSO and Prateek Kumar Singh, ADFM/NER/Lucknow. Apart from Shri Hassan Iqbal, Retired FC, who graced the occasion, other officers who came were Shri S.C.Gupta, Retired AM, Ms. Razia Azam, Retired ED/Finance/RDSO & Shri G.Tripathi, Retired FA&CAO. The proceedings started at 11:30 hrs. with a brief introduction as well as reading of the message of Advisor Accounts for IRAS Day. The gathering also condoled the untimely demise of son of Shri Gopal Chaturvedi, Retired IRAS settled at Lucknow and two minutes silence was observed for departed soul. A technical presentation on ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ was made followed by a discussion on the subject. The retired officers were felicitated at the end of the function, which was followed by Lunch.
It is our suggestion that IRAS Day should be celebrated in a city-wise context and not in terms of Zonal affiliations so that there is an optimum number of officers collectively available to celebrate and observe the IRAS Day at a particular location.
Since officers of Northern Railway posted at Lucknow are called by Northern Railway Headquarter to attend the IRAS function in New Delhi, this impacts the gathering of IRAS officers, although NE Railway officers participate in the Lucknow gathering.
